I’m talking about CineBrass from Cinesamples and their new CineBrass Pro expansion. This is a “part 2” to the original, with extra articulations, sections and my favorite…chords and fx. The idea behind CineBrass Pro was to be an expansion to the CineBrass Core library. While the original provides a lot of the common or essential portions of cinematic brass articulations, this one goes a bit further.

When you want those huge horn sections, or section played chords and fx, that’s where this library comes in. Of course you get some other solo instruments and legato articulations for those instruments but for me…it’s the chords, fx, and “other stuff” that peaked my interest. Like a blockbuster film in my pc! Seriously…it sounds amazing.

The first installment was great, but I always wished I could get some actual chords and fx recorded by the actual section and not just put together after words. To me, CineBrass Pro is essential because it has the solos. Man the space and tone of this brass is simply oustanding, it just sounds so real and I am instantly reminded of so many movies and soundtracks just by playing the sounds. I like writing for solo brass, particularly horn and trumpet, so for me it was a no-brainer. You can get by without CineWinds Pro since its mostly made up of ethnic and secondary orchestral winds (alto flute, bass clarinet, contrabassoon) but I like having a contrabassoon in my.

I just can’t say enough about the chords and fx, I would be happy with a library of just those, I would feel quite content! No that there are riffs in here, but it’s that “movie sound” that many of us are familiar with. The additional legato solo instruments and legato section instruments are really a great addition to the original as well.īottom line is…if you want that “Hollywood” sound…this is it. Seriously, I know it’s not for everyone, but those who love and use these types of sounds…I really can’t see a better option. I give CineBrass Pro 5 out of 5 subs, I really love it, it’s what I wanted when I first played the original, and I would be content with just this library alone. The sound quality is unsurpassed but there is also a realism in the sounds and space around the instruments that keeps them from sounding “too perfect” or sterile.Īll around this is just a great library, and if you’re looking at it then I’m sure you know what you’re looking for…and I can say…this is it.
